Together with Chicago Region Trees Initiative, we are committed to helping plant a tree for every Chicagoland community in 2021! The good news is this is something you can help out with too! Let's learn more!
What is the Plant Trees for Communities Initiative?
CRTI (Chicago Region Trees Initiative) aims to plant one tree in every community within their seven-county target zone in the Chicagoland area. This area includes Lake County, McHenry County, Kane County, Kendall County, Cook County, DuPage County, and Will County.
Why is planting trees important?
Planting trees helps improve the air quality, benefits local ecology, adds shade & beauty, reduces energy costs, helps manage stormwater runoff, improves the health & wellbeing of the people living in those communities, and will strengthen the communities where trees are planted.
Simply put, trees rock and improve our quality of life!
How can you help?
Plant a tree in your yard, in a local park, or anywhere in your community. Planting trees is something you will feel good about. Trees are beneficial for you, your town, and the planet!
