iTrees.com begins our planting season in spring, and this is usually after the nursery has completed their spring dig and stocked the holding-yard. Depending on the weather, we will start to deliver and plant trees around the 1st or 2nd week of May. A lot of the time our customers don't realize that we will continue to plant trees throughout summertime and well into fall. We'll stop planting trees right before the ground begins to freeze, usually, this is around the last week of November.
As Marlee Harford, iTrees.com owner puts it, "It matters more so when the trees are dug than when they are planted." The nursery will do a spring dig and a fall dig and certain tree species can only be dug in certain seasons. For example, the nursery will only do an Oak dig in the spring but Oaks can indeed be planted all spring, summer, and fall long.
Let's take a look at some of our fun summer tree planting jobs!
Something extra special that takes a bit more planning and um let's say maneuvering than usual are rooftop or decktop tree plantings. We had the pleasure of getting to do a couple of these this summer.
Another fun job was this Arborvitae living wall that we put in along the homeowner's driveway. Now, these homeowners can sit back and sip their sweet tea in privacy!
