Tree Planting Grant Opportunity

The Chicago Region Trees Initiative has announced that Round II of the Tree Equity funding is up for grabs. What does this mean? Disadvantaged communities in the Chicagoland area may be eligible to apply for the grant. With funding from this grant, communities will be able to enhance their communities safety, beauty, and replant depleted tree canopies helping to restore urban canopies.

When: Deadline → September 13th at 5:00 pm

How: The first step is to see if your community qualifies. If it does you'll need to first submit your notice of intent. You can do that here.Then, submit your Tree Equity Grant Application by the September 13th deadline.

"Round II Application Released — Tree Equity Grant for Disadvantaged Communities

Funding for projects to enhance urban and community forestry in nature-deprived populations and disadvantaged communities is now available from the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry allocation of the Inflation Reduction Act. This request for proposals provides funding assistance to nonprofits, government entities, and other eligible groups described in the Request for Proposals (RFP). All projects must occur in and directly benefit disadvantaged areas. Grant awards are available for a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $500,000. For all eligible projects, there is no match requirement."
