Developed by the late Dr. George Ware at The Morton Arboretum, it was selected for landscape use due to its disease resistance, strong branching structure, and vigorous growth rate. This majestic tree matures into a broadly pyramidal canopy covered in large green leaves, providing dense shade. Its exfoliating bark reveals smooth patches of light gray that transition to bright white during the winter. In autumn, the tree showcases glowing golden-yellow leaves that contrast beautifully with its light gray-mottled bark. This stately tree is sure to make a striking statement in any landscape.
