Why it rocks:
Whitespire Birch has a nice narrow, pyramidal size and a chalky white bark that looks great all season long. The bright green leaves rustle in the wind and turn the brightest yellow in the fall. This tree also features interesting catkins which grace the tree in the summer. Whitespire Birch is our only recommended white-barked birch because of its resistance to bronze birch borer and Japanese beetle.
Where to put it:
Whitespire Birch is extremely versatile and can be used nearly anywhere in the landscape. Because of its shape, Birch trees are great along property lines as a privacy screen. Birch trees are also commonly used in the front or back landscape to provide accent or anchoring, or around a deck or patio to provide shade and screening. It is best to avoid parkways, and this tree should always be kept at least 15ft away from buildings.
What it needs:
Whitespire Birch does exceedingly well in wet locations, but will typically thrive anywhere in the landscape given adequate water. This tree is extremely low maintenance once established in the landscape.
