Beijing Gold® Tree Lilac, also commonly known as the Peking Tree Lilac, is part of the Chicagoland Grows® Plant Introduction Program and introduced to Northern America through the NACPEC (North America-China Plant Exploration Consortium) and The Morton Arboretum. Selected for its summer plumes of fragrant yellow flowers, dark green foliage, attractive bark, upright growth habit, and warm yellow fall color.

Beijing Gold® Tree Lilac is an extremely versatile ornamental tree. This tree makes for an outstanding specimen tree that can be planted in the front yard, backyard, in groups in the landscape, along driveways, patios, and does well on the parkway.

What it needs:

Beijing® Gold Tree Lilac is best grown in full sun in well-drained soil. Tolerant of both acidic and alkaline soils. Drought tolerant once well established. Be sure to follow our watering guidelines for the first few growing seasons until the tree’s root system is well established.
