Quick Overview

Why it rocks:

This breakthrough native selection is a Chicagoland Grows® introduction. Early Glow™ Ohio Buckeye, named for its early display of brilliant red fall color! This tree has bright green leaves that emerge before it surprises with its yellow flowers. Early Glow offers a dense shade, and it matures with an attractive upright round to oval form. Its uniform silhouette is appealing in any landscape.

Where to put it:

Early Glow™ Ohio Buckeye adds a native feel to the landscape. Unlike other Ohio Buckeye trees, Early Glow has minimal fruit litter. This characteristic lends itself to more limited areas such as parkways, golf courses, parking lot islands. Plant it anywhere in the open landscape, in parks, parkways, or wherever a splash of color is needed. Plant this tree at least 15-20ft away from buildings.

What it needs:

Early Glow™ Ohio Buckeye prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Be sure to follow our tree care instructions for the first few growing seasons until the root system is well-established.
