Musashino Japanese Zelkova

Musashino Japanese Zelkova is a unique shade tree selection. This tree has a beautiful columnar form with slender serrated medium green leaves. Autumn brings an array of tones, from yellow to rusty red-orange. The tree's small leaf size greatly reduces the need for raking and other fall cleanup.

Where to put it:

Musashino Japanese Zelkova’s slender form makes it the perfect choice for tight spaces. It has proven to do exceptionally well in tough urban conditions, especially on the parkway. Use it as a specimen in the landscape, in groups, or for creating a visual block.

What it needs:

Musashino Japanese Zelkova does well in moist, well-drained soil. Tolerant of both acidic and alkaline soils. Tolerant of tough urban conditions, more heat and drought tolerant than other Zelkova varieties, once well established. Be sure to follow our watering guidelines for the first few growing seasons until the root system is well-established.
