Where to put it:
River Birch is extremely versatile and can be used nearly anywhere in the landcape. Because of its shape, River Birch is great along property lines as a privacy screen. River Birch is also commonly used in the front or back landscape to provide accent or anchoring, or around a deck or patio to provide shade and screening. It is best to avoid parkways, and this tree should always be kept at least 15ft away from buildings.
What it needs:
River Birch does exceedingly well in wet locations, but will typically thrive anywhere in the landscape given adequate water. This tree will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location, but is extremely low maintenance once established in the landscape.
